The Kwazulu Natal schoolboy rugby season commenced with Round 1 witnessing a series of closely contested matches and a notable upset.


As teams prepare for Round 2, let's review the outcomes from the previous weekend and look ahead to the upcoming fixtures.


Round 1 Recap:

Hilton College secured a narrow victory against Secunda, while Michaelhouse faced a close defeat against Helpmekaar.



Glenwood suffered a 26-21 loss to Welkom Gim, while Clifton comfortably won against a KZN development team. The highlight of Round 1 was Kearsney's historic win over their rivals, clinching a dramatic victory with a last-minute kick.



Rankings Update:

Despite the outcomes of Round 1, there were no changes in the KZN Schools rugby rankings. As teams prepare for Round 2, the rankings remain unchanged with Hilton leading the pack followed by Michaelhouse, Maritzburg College, DHS, Glenwood, Westville, Northwood, Kearsney, St Charles, and Clifton.


Round 2 Preview:

In Round 2, St Charles will face Milnerton before taking on Bishops. Michaelhouse aims to extend their winning streak against Westville, while Hilton meets Northwood. Kearsney seeks redemption against DHS, and Maritzburg College enters their match against Clifton as favorites.
